Important information concerning import of air weapon into Russia

Please have an extract from the Russian Federal Law “About weapon”.

Sports and hunting arms can be imported by foreign citizens into the Russian Federation in the presence of the service provision agreement in the sphere of hunting sector or in the presence of the invitation for participation in sporting events and corresponding permission of the federal executive body, which is responsible for development and implementation of a state policy and legal regulation in the sphere of internal affairs. The sports air arms with muzzle energy no more than 7,5 J and caliber up to 4,5 mm inclusive can be imported by foreign citizens into the Russian Federation for participation in sporting events without the permission of the federal executive body, which is responsible for development and implementation of a state policy and legal regulation in the sphere of internal affairs, in the presence of the invitation of the organizer of sporting events, in the presence of the petition of the All-Russian sports federation, accredited in compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, and in the presence of the enumeration (list) of the imported arms. This enumeration (list) must be certified by this All-Russian sports federation. The specified arms must be exported from the Russian Federation in the terms, established by the agreement or the invitation.
