Athletes from three continents meet in Tarragona

The 18th Mediterranean Games have been inaugurated on Friday, June 22, in the city of Tarragona, Spain.

The ISSF has been represented at the Games by Vladimir Lisin, the ISSF Vice-President and the ESC President. During the Opening Ceremony, attended by the King of Spain Felipe VI, he had a chance to talk to Amar Addadi, President of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Janez Kocijancic, President of the European Olympic Committees, Raffaele Pagnozzi, Secretary General of the European Olympic Committees, Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Jose Perurena, IOC Member, President of the International Canoe Federation, Spyros Capralos, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani, President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Shasivar Haxhijaj, Secretary General of the Kosovo Olymppic Committee, Julian Pace Bonello, President of the Maltese Olympic Committee, Joseph Cassar, Secretary General of the Maltese Olympic Committee and leaders of some other NOCs.

The next day Vladimir Lisin visited Campo de Tiro de Sant Salvador - place of the shooting competitions where 118 athletes from 23 countries of Europe, Africa and Asia disputed 6 sets of medals in Air Rifle/Air Pistol and Shotgun. He met with the athletes, the officials and the representatives of several ISSF Member Federations.
