European Confederation is the leading confederation in ISSF

n the European Nations meeting on Thursday 29th November the ESC Secretary General Ratner already reminded that Europe is the leading confederation who will develope most the shooting sport. It can help also other confederations to develop their actions. That is why it is neccessary that it can have also place and positions in the ISSF.

In the elections the European candidates managed well when ESC President Vladimir Lisin and ESC Secretary General Alexander Ratner were elected as ISSF President and Secretary General yesterday.


The ISSF General Assembly voted also yesterday the Vice-Presidents. Kevin Kilty (IRL) was elected as one of the Vice-President. The other Vice-President are Yifu Wang (CHN), Robert Mitchell (USA) and Raninder Singh (IND).


The General Assembly continued on Saturday. In the Council Member elections Europe succeeded also well.


Catherine Fettel (AUS, 195), Lee Dal-gon (KOR, 186), Alexandros Dimakakos (GRE, 177), Liang Chun (CHN, 152), Yair Davidovic (ISR, 142), Pekka Kuusisto (FIN, 142) and György Nagy (HUN, 141) achieved the Council Member place directly in the first voting round. The simple majority limit was 141 votes.


The other eight members who were elected were: Egbert IJzerman (NED), Hugues Senger (FRA), Ali Dadgar (IRI), Gerado Trotta (VEN), Michael VAZ (SGP), Christina Ahlsted (SWE), Hans-Heinrich von Schönfels (GER), Rafael Guerra Mollinado (CUB).


Jörg Brokamp (GER) was elected as the Chairman of the ISSF Technical Committee, David Goodfellow (GBR) was elected as the Chairman of the ISSF Rifle Committee, Susan Abbott (USA) was elected as the Chairwoman of the ISSF Pistol Committee, Demetris Lordos(CYP) was elected as the Chairman of the ISSF Shotgun Committee, and Claes Johansson (SWE) was elected as the Chairman of the ISSF Running Target Committee.
