THE TOP TEAM MATCH COMPETITION RULES FOR 2014 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SHOTGUN ARE READY

At the 2015 European Games in Baku, the Team Event in Shotgun will be part of the official competitions for the first time in the history of the shooting sport.

The competition format of this special Team Event has been prepared by the European Shooting Confederation. The teams composed by one man and one woman, selected by each nation from among its individual entries, will start with a qualification stage composed of 2 rounds of 25 targets each. After the qualification stage the three best teams will proceed to the Final. The ranking will be decided by the combined results of the 2 members of each team. In the Trap Final each athlete will have to shoot 15 targets from positions 1 to 5, as per ISSF Semi Final rules. In the Skeet Final each athlete will have to shoot 16 targets (8 doubles) from positions 3,4,5,4 in that sequence, as per ISSF Semi Final rules. The medals will be decided by the combined scores of the 2 members of each team. Any ties after the Final will be decided by shoot-off as per ISSF rules. Each team will appoint from among its 2 members, the shooter who will shoot-off (either man or woman).

The first test of the new Team Event - named Top Team Match (Skeet - Trap) - will take place in Sarlóspuszta, Hungary, during the 2014 European Championship in Shotgun. The competition will be conducted in one stage only - the Final - same format as the Semi Final stage, as per ISSF rules. In Trap Final each member of the team will have to shoot 15 targets from positions 1 to 5. In Skeet Final each member of the team will have to shoot 16 targets (8 doubles) from positions 3,4,5,4. The three top ranked teams - the Finalists - will be determined by the addition of the team results of the Men & the Women of each nation that participated in the team events of the European Championship.
