The German sets records in Qualification, but the Ukrainian wins the Final

After a strong thunderstorm during the night the temperature in Osijek decreased from 40° to 25°C and it became much more comfortable to compete.

The German team won the gold medal in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men with the result of 1742 points. The winning result is a new European record! The team consisted of Christian Reitz (593), Aaron Sauer (578) and Oliver Geis (571). The Russian Federation won the silver medal with the result of 1728 points outranking Poland (1715), which won the bronze medal.

At the Qualification the German Christian Reitz set a new World and European Record of 593 points and he was expected to win the Final as well. 

As it has been mentioned so many times, the finals are separate competitions. This concerns the Final of 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men as well, won by Roman Bondaruk from Ukraine. Bondaruk ranked second at the Qualification, being eight points (585) behind Reitz. The Championship result of Roman Bondaruk was 32 points and Bondaruk outranked the Russian Aleksei Klimov with the difference of one hit. Aleksei Klimov’s score at the finals was 31 points. Klimov had the possibility to shoot off. He had to make five full hits but he could get only four points and won the silver medal. The Qualification World Record holder Christian Reitz won the bronze medal with score of 27 points.
