The French team have focused their training actions at the right time and place. They finished their 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men with the new World and European Record winning those competitions. The new record is now 3513 points.

The team consisted of Cyril Graff (1177), Mickael D. Halluin(1168) and Valerian Sauveplane (1168). The Russian Federation (3509) became the winner of the silver medal and Belarus won the bronze medal.

The whole French team have also received a pass to the Finals. It looked like a competition between France and the rest of Europe.

It should have been a perfect day for France if Nazar Louginets from the Russian Federation had not participated in the competition. This young Russian was not afraid of the three French heroes. Louginets was the best in Qualification with the result of 1180 points and kept this top position also in the Finals. He won the Final with the result of 452,3 points and with the 0,7 point difference from the 50m Rifle Prone champion  French Valerian Sauverplane (451,6). Vitali Budnovic (430,8) from Belarus became the winner of the bronze medal.

“Shooting was quite difficult today, kneeling and prone are not so good for me but in the standing position I´m much better. This was my first BIG victory and I’m feeling happy. What´s next?  Well, I would like to rest for a while, to have a holiday.  Then I have to start to practice for the next World championship. I want to be a winner there, too”, the new champion said planning his future.
