Veronika Major continues her strong performances

Hungarian Veronika Major is perhaps the hottest name in Women Pistol shooting in the world.

She has already won two World Cup events and now she was best in the 10m Air Pistol Women Qualification. Her result was 578. Behind her with the result of 577 we can find Austrian Sylvia Steiner, Russian Svetlana Medvedeva and the another Hungarian, Renata Sike. Next who qualifyed to the final which will be competed on Saturday were Klaudia Bres (POL) 576, Belarusian Viktoria Chaika (576), Anna Korakaki (GRE) 575 and Olena Kostevych (UKR) 575. Kostevych was the last finalist with 21 inner tens. Behind her there were also Russian Batsarashkina and Italian Sara Constantino, but both had unfortunately less inner tens.

Team of the Russian Federation made a new European record – 1726 in the qualification. The team consisted of Svetlana Medvedeva, Vitalina Batsarashkina and Ekaterina Korshunova. The seven other team to the tomorrow quarterfinals were Hungary (1719), Ukraine(1709), Poland (1708), Germany (1694), Serbia (1684), Switzerland (1674) and Slovenia (1658). The Quarterfinals will be competed on Friday.
