THE SECOND PHASE OF THE ELECTIONS TO THE ATHLETES’ COMMITTEE IS OPEN

The Second phase of the elections to the ESC Athletes’ Committee is now open. One male representative from the Pistol group and one male representative from the Rifle group are to be elected during the 2014 European Championship 10m in Moscow, Russia. One female representative will be elected by the participants of the 2014 European Championship Shotgun in Sarlóspuszta, Hungary.

According to the Guidelines approved by the XXIV ESC General Assembly, the Athletes’ Committee is composed of 7 members – 1 man and 1 woman from the Pistol group, 1 man and 1 woman from the Rifle group, 1 man and 1 woman in Shotgun and 1 man or woman in Running Target. By the time of their nomination/election the candidates must be participating in European and/or international level competitions in the corresponding discipline groups (Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Running Target) or must have done so during the past four years 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013. The members of the ESC Athletes’ Committee are elected for a four year term. The nominations have to be done by the Member Federations for any discipline group, but only one nomination per Member Federation.

In the summer of 2013 the first phase of the elections to the ESC Athletes’ Committee took place. Petra Zublasing from Italy in the Rifle group and Jasna Šekarić from Serbia in the Pistol group have been elected by the participants of the 2013 European Championship in Osijek, Croatia. Two weeks later Vasily Mosin from Russia in the Shotgun group and Josef Sike from Hungary in the Running Target group were elected by the participants of the 2013 European Championship in Suhl, Germany.

The remaining three positions in the ESC Athletes’ Committee are to be filled in 2014 and we invite the Member Federations to submit nominations. The nominations including a CV of the candidate must be sent to the ESC Secretariat by e-mail: esc@esc-sport.eu or fax: +7 (495) 221.30.07

The deadline for nominations of one male representative in the Pistol group and one male representative in the Rifle group, who are to be elected by the participants of the European Championship 10m in Moscow, is February 12, 2014.

Nominations of one female representative in the Shotgun group who is to be elected by the participants of the European Championship Shotgun in Sarlóspuszta must be submitted till June 12, 2014.
