Lapua European Cup 25m Pistol started the International shooting sport season after Covid-19
The international shooting sport season after the Covid-19 started in Tallinn Estonia. There are participants from four countries (Latvia, Slovenia, Finland and Estonia) totally 20 athletes. The Lapua European Cup started yesterday (Friday) with Pre event trainings and with Technical Meeting.
"I'll thank you all that you have travelled here to start the season. We have to be very careful to prevent the virus more but I'm happy that we could start the season, which we have waited for a long time. We have to cross our fingers that we can continue the season", told Marko Leppä, the Technical Delegate of the Cup.
Slovenian Jože Čeper, the winner of 2019 Lapua European Cup Standard Pistol, is one of the participating athletes.
"I'm very happy, but excited to start my first international competition after Covid-19. We have had Slovenian Championships and some smaller national competitions, but this is now the first international one. Of course this has been very dramatic for all people, but there has been also something good too. Now I have had a good pause to practice but also to concentrate the issues where I have to be better in shooting. Nearly every day I had training".
"I have trained well, but the touch to compete is a little bit disappeared and I have to start some way to find it again. Nerves at the moment are not in same situation as before and it is a little bit challenging", explained Čeper before the Pre Event Training on Friday morning when he came from having his breakfast at the hotel.
The Lapua European Cup 25m Pistol Events will start today (Saturday) in Männiku Shooting Center with Centre Fire Pistol Men and on Sunday it continues with Standard Pistol Men competition.
