The updated Qualification System for Tokyo 2020 is approved

The IOC Executive Board approved the updated Tokyo 2020 Qualification System for the Shooting sport.

As proposed by the ESC and the ISSF, the Quota Places supposed to be allocated at the 2020 European Championship Shotgun, Châteauroux, France, and the European Olympic Qualification Championship, Plzeň, Czech Republic, will be allocated at the 2021 European Championship 10m, Lohja, Finland, and at the European Championship 25/50/300m/Shotgun, Osijek, Croatia.

Should one of those Championships or both of them not take place, Quota Places that would have been allocated at these Qualifying competitions will be then allocated according to the ranking list of the European Shooting Confederation, dated 31 May 2020.

The allocation of the 12 Quota Places (one in each individual event) according to the World Ranking will be done based on the World Ranking list as of March 31, 2020 and points earned at one ISSF World Cup in Rifle/Pistol and one ISSF World Cup in Shotgun to be held in March-April of 2021.

The new deadline for Tokyo 2020 Qualification in the Shooting sport is June 6, 2021.

The updated Qualification System can be found here.
