Research analysis on the firearms & ammunition sectors in Europe - ESC questionnaire

Dear ESC Member Federations,

We inform you that AFEMS (Association of European Manufacturers of Sporting Ammunition) and IEACS (Institut Européen des Armes de Chasse et de Sport), with the support of the European Shooting Sports Forum (ESSF), of which ESC is member, are carrying out a study on the socio-economic impact of our sector in the EU27 (+ Norway, Switzerland and UK).

The aim of this study is to have a clear picture of the effective “weight” of our sector in the EU. This will prove very useful especially when meeting and talking to EU institutions’ representatives and decision-makers.

The study will be conducted by the University of Urbino, who has already made a similar study in Italy with very positive results. Therefore, the same methodology will be applied to this wider project.

The works will run for 12 months, with the final report expected by the end of 2024. For the data collection phase, which has just started and will last 3 months, the University of Urbino needs the support of the different stakeholders involved. To this end, we kindly ask you to reply to the following survey for your country.

Survey is attached as editable MS Word file below.

For the study to succeed, it is critical that you try to provide as much information and the most accurate possible.

For any further information or requests for clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Many thanks for your kind cooperation.

The first section contains the most important information that is needed for the study.

In section 2, the questions are optional. Any data relating to the questions in section 2 is helpful, however only if you have access to the data and have the possibility to supply this information.

Due to the variability within our shooting organizations, it may be difficult to answer some questions. Please however provide as much information as possible related to the topic of that question (explaining specifics for your country or Federation).

Please send the filled in questionnaire to esc@escsport.eu no later than October 2nd, 2023.
