Ali Pllana, 1939-2025

With deep sorrow, we inform that Ali Pllana, long-term President of the Shooting Sport Federation of Kosovo, passed away on January 23rd, 2025.

Ali Pllana dedicated his entire life to sports. He started his career in shooting sports at the age of 14, competing at the highest levels for decades. He was a multiple-time Champion of the former Yugoslavia and a master in 300m Rifle shooting, setting high standards for precision and discipline. His career as an active marksman continued until 2019, when health reasons prevented him from further engagement in competitions as coach and sports administration.

As President of the Kosovo Shooting Sport Federation, he worked tirelessly to develop and promote the sport, ensuring Kosovo’s participation in the international shooting community. His efforts were instrumental in securing Kosovo's membership in the ESC (2015) and ISSF (2016).

The ESC extends its most sincere condolences to Mr. Pllana’s family and the Shooting Sport Federation of Kosovo.
