Anna Korakaki gets the Gold, Nino Salukvadze – quota to Paris 2024

Today Finals started with 25m Pistol Women event.

After Qualification 8 best athletes from 8 nations took part in Ranking Matches. Anna Korakaki from Greece, Antoaneta Kostadinova from Bulgaria, Doreen Vennekamp from Germany, and Nino Salukvadze from Georgia have qualified for the Medal Match.

As we’ve already communicated, Salukvadze obtained a 2024 Paris quota place, and this will be her 10th Olympics – absolute record in the Olympic Movement!

All athletes shot almost perfectly. Anyway, Salukvadze was the first to be eliminated in the 4th series with 9 points. Vennekamp took Bronze medal in 6th series with 18 points. Korakaki’s and Kostadinova’s results throughout the whole Medal Match were nearly the same, but everything was decided in the 8th series, and Korakaki won the Gold medal with 27:26 against Kostadinova. Like during all these days, difference between Gold and Silver medalists was extremely minimal, audience was excited till the very last shot.

Medals were presented by the European Olympic Committees President, Mr. Spyros Capralos.
