Hungarians started the 10m European Championships U16/U18 strongly
18 nations earned medals in the first day of the tournament!
The European Championships U16/U18 started strongly on Tuesday 11th February with the 10m Rifle U16 Women and Junior Men Individuals and Team competitions. Best in the U-16 Women was Hungarian Emma Dombi with an European Record result 413.8, silver medalist Zakira Pušina (BIH) and Bronze Medal Winner was Rana Gözübüyük (TUR).
The best Team was Poland (Karolina Śmigielska, Laura Adamska, Martyna Kowalska) with European record result 1229.1. Hungary was second and Ukrainian Team climbed on the Bronze podium.
In the 10m Air Rifle U16 the winner was Austrian Johannes Hoffelner (413.5 ER), Silver medal travelled to Ukraine with Artem Mozghovyi and Bronze medal winner Estonian Pettai Kaspar.
Hungary took a superior victory in Team competition (1226.7 ER) before Team Estonia. The Hungarian team consisted of Koppány Szabados, Nimród Süle and Zoltan Leopold. Lithuania won the Bronze medal.
Serbian Anastasija Živković won the Gold medal in 10m Air Rifle U18 Women (419.5 ER) before her team mate Anđelija Stevanović and Polish Julia Rochowska.
The best in Team competition was Serbia (1248.0 ER). The Team consisted of Anastasija Živković, Anđelija Stevanović and Srna Aranđelović. Poland was second and Team Hungary third.
Slovelian Gal Potrč won 10m Air Rifle U18 gold (417.4 ER) before Hungarian Ákos Márta and Maksimilijan Žarić (SLO).
In The team competition Hungarian team (Ákos Márta, Daniel Backsics and Csongor Lévai – 1243.1 ER) took the highest podium before Team Poland and Team Czechia.
On the 10m Air Pistol side the Championships started with the Solo Competitions.
After the two qualifications round in the Gold Match of the Air Pistol Solo U16 Men met Georgian Sandro Khositashvili and Hungarian Zoltán Kiss, who won gold 12-11 after a tight match. In the Bronze match Eren Kalfa (TUR) won Romanian Connor-Duncan Smaranda with result of 13-12. In Air Pistol U18 Solo Men best Oleg Golik (AIN) before Otso-Aadolf Ahokangas (FIN) with result 12-10.
Latvian Kristiāna Agule has the honor to climb on the highest podium in 10m Air Pistol U16 Women. She won in the Gold match Aleksandra Brezegowa with result 12-9. Bronze medal winner was Bulgarian Nikolaya Radenkova before Hungarian Elizabet Bohutinsky with result 12-9.
In Air Pistol Solo U18 winner was Latvian Līva Krūmiņa, who won Ukranian Yulia Isachenko 12-9. In the Bronze match Leyli Aliyeva (AZE) won Bulgarian Maria Atansova after a hard match 12-11.
The Championships will continue on Wednesday at 08.15 in Kalev Sports Hall.
