Important decisions of the ESC Presidium
The ESC Presidium had the first meeting of the year in Györ, Hungary. Different matters and reports were discussed. Several important decisions were taken.
European Qualification for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo
Following the ISSF Executive Committee decision Europe will have 52 Quota Places to be disputed at the continental competitions. Upon the ESC proposal the deadline for those competitions has been set as April 30, 2020.

The French Shooting Federation has been requested to consider the possibility of staging the 2020 European Championship Shotgun in the second half of April 2020 and, thus, to use this Championship as the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Shotgun.
The Presidium decided to open the bidding process for the 2020 European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Rifle/Pistol.
2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus
The Qualification system for the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus, and the schedule of the shooting competitions has been approved. Both documents can be found here.
2018 European Championship Shotgun in Austria
The Preliminary Schedule has been discussed and approved. It can be found here.
Special notes:
• 9 (nine) best teams in DT Mixed Team event (one per nation) will qualify to the 2019 European Games in Minsk;
• In case there are not more than 3 (three) teams in Junior team events taking part in the competitions, teams ranked third and second after Qualification will compete in the Bronze Medal Match. The winner proceeds to the Gold Medal Match and will compete there with the top-ranked team after Qualification.
2019 European Championship 25/50/300m/RT/Shotgun in Italy
The Presidium expressed deep concern with the preparations to this Championship. Among other measures, it was decided to inform the CONI President Mr. Giovanni Malagò about the situation and ask his personal involvement in the process as the guarantee of the joint UITS and FITAV bid.
Transformation of the European Youth League into the European Championship
The Working Group presided by György Nagy has to prepare the necessary amendments to the General Regulations by the next Presidium meeting. The goal is to formalize the transformation by the end of 2018.
Development
The Coach Development program has been prolonged and the ESC Member Federations are invited to send applications.
The Presidium has also decided to expand the European experience and make it available to the ISSF Member Federations from Africa. The first three grants have been allocated to the coaches from Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana that would allow them to attend the C course of the ISSF Training Academy in Bar, Montenegro, in October of this year.
A proposal has been sent to the African Shooting Confederation to sign a broader cooperation agreement between the ESC and the ASC on education of coaches starting from 2018.
2020 European Championship 25/50m Juniors
It was decided to accept the application of the Croatian Shooting Federation to host the 2020 European Championship 25/50m Junior in Osijek.
