Nina Christen keeps on gathering Golds!
26 Mixed Teams representing 15 nations took part in Qualification. 4 best – Switzerland, Austria, Norway, and Denmark – reached the Medal Matches.
We all here at the III European Games become accustomed to the fact that almost all Medal Matches are full of tension, and today there was no exception too. In the Bronze Medal Match Norwegians Jenny Stene and Simon Kolstad Claussen took over their Scandinavian neighbors Steffen Olsen and Stephanie Grundsøe from Denmark with 16:14 – just 2 points difference!
In the Gold Medal Match there was a duel of another pair of neighbors: Jan Lochbihler and Nina Christen from Switzerland and Sheileen Waibel and Andreas Thum from Austria. The situation varied in favor of each Mixed Team throughout the whole Match, but finally Lochbihler and Christen took the top of the podium with 16:10.
Today’s Gold is the third for Nina Christen at these competitions: on June 23rd she won the 10m Air Rifle Women event, and on June 24th she was a part of Swiss trio taking the 1st place in the 10m Air Rifle Team Women event! Tomorrow she has a chance to win another one with 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Women in the program.
