Resetting the records: Osijek finds its rhythm
The second day of competition in Osijek brought more outstanding performances — and another world record.
The day opened with 50m Rifle 3 Positions Duet, where Norway's formidable duo of Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jon-Hermann Hegg matched the European record in qualification before going on to claim gold, proving once again why they are among the very best in this discipline. Ukraine's Serhii Kulish and Daria Dudka delivered a strong performance to take silver, while Switzerland's Emely Jaeggi and Christoph Duerr completed the podium with bronze.

The program then shifted to pistol. In 25m Pistol Women, Germany's Doreen Vennekamp took gold, while France made its presence felt with bboth silver and bronze – Heloise Fourre and Mathilde Lamolle respectively stepping onto the podium. The French dominance continued in the team event, where they claimed gold ahead of Hungary in silver and Germany in bronze.

But the defining moment of the day came in Rapid Fire Pistol Men – and it was nothing short of spectacular.
It began in qualification, where France's Clement Bessaguet matched the world record – a stunning individual achievement. The German team of Florian Peter, Emanuel Mueller, and Oliver Geis matched the European record in the team qualification event and went on to claim team gold. France took silver, Ukraine – bronze.
Then came the final. Oliver Geis stepped up and delivered 32 hits, surpassing the previous world record of 30 hits held by Italy's Massimo Spinella – a gold medal and a place in the history books. His compatriot Emanuel Mueller claimed silver, while Austria's Richard Zechmeister took bronze.

Two days in, and the records are already tumbling. Osijek is delivering exactly the kind of championship it promised. Let's see what today brings.
