SEVEN EUROPEAN SHOOTERS ARE ON TOP OF THE 2014 WORLD RANKING

Seven European shooters lead the world ranking in Olympic events. Four men and three women will be on top of the respective ranking lists by the end of 2014.

In Men events there are three shooters from Russia who managed to finish the season with the highest number of points: Sergey Kamenskiy - in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions, Nazar Louginets - in 10m Air Rifle and Alexander Zemlin – in Skeet. Besides, Erik Varga from Slovakia is the current “number one” in Trap.


In the Women events Snjezana Pejcic from Croatia, Olena Kostevych from Ukraine and Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova from Slovakia will meet the year 2015 as leaders of the World Ranking in 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 10m Air Pistol and Trap respectively.


On the other hand, eight European shooters occupy nine second positions in the World Ranking (Petra Zublasing from Italy is “number two” in 50m Rifle 3 Positions and in 10m Air Rifle) and nine third positions. A total of ten European countries are represented in the lists of “first three” by events: Russia (3 first positions and 2 third), Slovakia (2 first and 1 second), Croatia and Ukraine (both with 1 first), Germany (3 second and 3 third), Italy (3 second and 1 third), Spain (1 second and 1 third), Turkey (1 second), Great Britain and Serbia (both with 1 third).   


Finally, in the World Ranking the shooters from Asia occupy five first places, four second and five third. Athletes from the Americas finished the season with two first, one second and one third, from Oceania with one first and from Africa with one second position.
