Tallinn Championship is open
The first-ever European Championship for U16 and U18 athletes is open, marking a historic milestone for the sport.
The ESC President Alexander Ratner emphasized the momentous occasion in which the shooting community is privileged to participate. He extended gratitude to the Estonian Shooting Sport Federation for the initiative in organizing this championship and for the excellent conditions created for the participants.
This Сhampionship is a direct result of the proactive approach taken by member federations and coaches. The participation numbers speak for themselves: 264 athletes from 28 countries taking part is a clear demonstration of the high level of interest among ESC member federations. Representatives from all participating teams emphasized the importance of this event, noting that having an official European Championship for young athletes is crucial for the federations and competitors alike.
"When you see so many boys and girls from different countries dedicated to the shooting sport together, wearing national uniforms, the excitement in their eyes, their determination, and their focus on success, you can’t help but conclude that establishing the European Championships for U16/U18 was, perhaps, the best decision ESC has made in the past three years”,- said Alexander Ratner.
Vilnis Celmiņš, coach of the Latvian team, expressed his gratitude to the ESC stating that this Сhampionship provides invaluable experience and motivation for young shooters, helping to shape the future of European shooting sport.
Looking ahead, President expressed anticipation for the next edition of the championship, which will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria.
