The European Championship in numbers
For the first time, Armenia welcomed the European Championship to its capital, Yerevan.
The event was a major success, and the excellent feedback, especially from the athletes, clearly suggests that this won't be the last time we meet in this beautiful city.
The ESC decided to look behind the scenes and analyze the data from one of the most important events. Here is the story of the Championship told through numbers:
354 athletes from 40 countries came to Armenia to compete at the highest level. We had 951 total competition starts and a very busy schedule. The program was packed with 23 events in total.
40 quotas for the 2027 European Games in Istanbul were won! This Сhampionship was the first event where athletes could compete for such a massive number of opportunities to qualify for Europe’s major multi-sport event.
5 gold medals put Norway at the very top of the overall standings. In total, they won 7 medals. Hungary took second place with 5 gold, and Ukraine came in third with 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. The top 10 also included strong teams from Armenia, Türkiye, AIN, Italy, Germany, Sweden, and Poland, in that order.
One World Record was broken on the very first day! The Norwegian team, Jeanette Duestad-Hegg and Jon-Hermann Hegg, made history in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team. But there were more: athletes set 13 new European records in Yerevan. Norway was the leader again, setting 7 of those records.
630,000 users visited our Instagram account during this Championship. Our community was more active than ever, leaving over 9,000 likes and 145 comments on our posts and reels. By the end of the event, our Instagram family had grown to over 12,000 followers, with 1,500 new fans joining us during this event.

830,000 visits were recorded on our Facebook page. Like Instagram, we gained 1,500 new followers, bringing our Facebook total to over 14,000.
Most importantly, our fans tuned in to watch: the Yerevan finals reached over 78,000 views across YouTube and Facebook. The Air Rifle Women’s and the Air Rifle Men’s finals were the most-watched moments of the Championship.
We also officially launched our TikTok account in Yerevan! We wanted to share fun, creative content to get even closer to our fans. The result? We already have nearly 1,900 followers, and we are just getting started!

P.S. And a few joke calculations:
Tons of delicious national dishes were eaten.
Thousands of incredible photos were taken for memory.
Hundreds of thousands of hugs shared between all of us.
A huge amount of pleasant emotions and lots of happiness for our European sports family.
See you soon!
