The last Gold medals for Croatia and Poland
Friday, the competition will end soon. There is still 10m Air Rifle Duets U16 and U18 in action.
After the Qualification four best Teams continued to the Semifinals of the Air Rifle U16. The lucky and happiest ones were Hungary 1, Greece, Croatia, and Austria. In the Semifinal 1 met Hungary 1 and Greece. Hungary did not give any possibilities to Team Greece. Hungary continued to Gold Match clearly 12-4. In the Semifinal 2 Team Croatia was as superior as Hungary in the first Semifinal. Croatia won clearly 12-4 and continued to the Gold match.
That Gold Match will be interesting and it really was. The leading was all the time changing and when the other one lost the point, during the next shot they were tie again. After the tie situation 8-8 Croatia took the lead 10-8. Timeout for Hungary, but it didn’t help. The Gold Match for Croatian Team, which consisted of Marina Kožar and Tin Bijonda.
Serbia and Poland made a thriller – Poland won finally Gold.
From the 24 teams the best Teams continued to the Semifinals of the Air Rifle Duet U18, the lucky ones were Serbia, Hungary3, Poland 1, and Israel. Serbia and Hungary 3 made a really exciting Semifinal which was tie 10-10 before the last possible shot. Serbian Team controlled their nerves better and won finally 12-10 and continued to the Final.
In the Semifinal 2 Poland 1 won Israel quite easily with result 12-6 and continued to the Gold match. In the Gold Match met two strong Rifle countries: Serbia and Poland.
The last Gold Match gave us so nice and exciting memories than it could give. Serbia (Anastasija Živković and Stefan Agović) and Poland (Kamila LUTOWSKA and Szymon Jarowski) made a really exciting play. Serbia took first the lead, but Poland came always back and tied. The match was again tie 8-8, took Poland in the next shot lead 10-8. Then both teams made same result in next shot 20.4 – situation 11-9 for Poland, but then Serbia came again and won the next shot - 11-11! Then both made again same results 19.8 – tie 12-12!!! The last two times 10.4 brought the victory for Poland. Poland Gold!!!!
This event was the last event of these European Championships. Thank you athletes, thank you coaches, thank you all volunteers and thank you Tallinn Estonia for the excellent event!!! See you soon again!!!!
