The legendary Illu has returned

Who is Illu? Illu is iconic symbol of Tallinn Zoo, but Illu is also a memory from 1937 when the Estonian shooting team achieved a legendary victory at World Championships in Helsinki.

The team returned with the prestigious Argentina Cup award and they had something special with them too. A live lynx, which Finland had given as a honor award to the winning team.

Now the legendary memory will return as the Mascot of the 2025 European Championship 10 U16/U18. The championship will be organized in the Kalevi Sport hall in Tallinn on the 9th-15th February.

This is marvelous opportunity for young athletes to start their official international career and compete on the international level and show the talent worldwide.

The mascot Illut is a perfect mascot to the Championships while it shows how the spirit and legacy is continuing and living well. It reminds also us of course the rich traditions, stories and memories that connects sport, nature, community and friendship.
