Türkiye on top, 20 countries with medals.
324 athletes from 42 nations participated in the 2025 European Championship in 10m Air Rifle/Air Pistol events held in Osijek, Croatia.
The program included the traditional ISSF format Individual, Mixed Team, and Team competitions as well as the ESC Challenge events – Solo (individual event based on hit/miss scoring) and Trio (real competitions between three athletes from each national team).
The real Queen of the Championship became Şevval İlaydaTarhan from Türkiye who won 3 Gold medals!
Not far behind in the number of victories finished the Championship Yusuf Dikeç, famous after the Paris Olympics Turkish athlete who returned home with 2 Gold medals.
Not surprisingly, both of them claimed the victory over Viktorie Šindlerová and Pavel Schejbal from Czechia in the Air Pistol Mixed Team Gold medal match. The Bronze went to Olympic Champions Zorana Arunović and Damir Mikec from Serbia.
In the Air Pistol Individual events, Şevval İlayda Tarhan and Juraj Tužinský from Slovakia emerged as Champions. In the Air Rifle events, Gold medals went to Laura-Georgeta Ilie from Romania and Serhii Kulish from Ukraine.
In the Air Rifle Mixed Team event, Audrey Gogniat and Jan Lochbihler from Switzerland triumphed over Aleksandra Havran and Aleksa Rakonjac from Serbia. Notably, Rakonjac had won the Gold medal in the Junior Men's Air Rifle competition just a week earlier. The Bronze went to Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jon-Hermann Hegg from Norway.
France (Camille Jedrzejewski, Céline Goberville, Annabelle Pioch) was on top of the podium in Air Pistol Team event among Women, and Czechia (Pavel Schejbal, Jindřich Dubový, Pavel Štětlík) – among men.
In Air Rifle Team Champions were Norway (Jeanette Hegg Duestad, Mari Bårdseng Løvseth, Amalie Evensen) in Women event, and Czechia again (Filip Nepejchal, Aleš Entrichel, Jiří Privratský) in Men event.
In the ESC Challenge Solo event, medalists were determined by hit/miss scoring in the medal matches, where 15 hits secured victory.
Both Air Pistol Solo titles went to representatives of AIN. Anton Aristarkhov won Gold with 15 hits leaving Silver to Yusuf Dikeç who had 12 hits. Liubov Yaskevich edged out Elmira Karapetyan from Armenia in the Women’s Final with a close 15:13 score.
The Air Rifle Solo Men event was particularly thrilling. In the Bronze medal match, home favorite Miran Maričić faced off against Swedish Viktor Lindgren, 2024 Olympic Silver medalist. Lindgren secured victory by a single hit. In the Gold medal match, it was an all-Hungarian showdown where Zalán Pekler defeated István Péni to become European Champion.
In the Air Rifle Solo Women event, the Bronze medal match was a nail-biter between Mari Bårdseng Løvseth (Norway) and Sheileen Waibel (Austria) with Waibel emerging victorious by a narrow 21:20 margin. The Gold medal went to Jeanette Hegg Duestad (Norway), who defeated Damla Köse from Türkiye with a decisive 15:10 score.
The ESC Challenge Trio event, a real test of teamwork, saw the following Champions crowned. In Air Rifle Trio Men Norway (Ole Martin Halvorsen, Jon-Hermann Hegg, Henrik Larsen) defeated Czechia (Aleš Entrichel, Filip Nepejchal, Jiří Přívratský) by two hits. Air Rifle Trio Women again Norway (Jeanette Hegg Duestad, Amalie Evensen, Mari Bårdseng Løvseth) triumphed over Switzerland (Audrey Gogniat, Chiara Leone, Muriel Züger)) by four hits.
In Air Pistol Trio Women Türkiye (Esra Bozabalı, Şevval İlaydaTarhan, Şimal Yılmaz) dominated Germany (Monika Karsch, Susanne Neisinger, Doreen Vennekamp) with a 12-hit advantage.
The Air Pistol Trio Men Champions were Türkiye (Yusuf Dikeç, Ismail Keleş, Buğra Selimzade), they defeated Czechia (Jindřich Dubový, Pavel Schejbal, Pavel Svetlík) with 2 hits difference.
The top 3 in medal standing is Team Türkiye, second is Norway and third is Czechia. In total, athletes from 20 nations won medals, while 10 nations celebrated European Champions. Notably, five countries appeared in the medal standing thanks to success in the ESC Challenge events.
During the two weeks of the Championships, ESC's digital platforms reached an audience of approximately 150,000. Additionally, the Internet views of shooting finals on the Entrent platforms alone totaled around 100,000.
