Ukraine Dominated in Novi Sad
The European Youth League Championship reached its thrilling conclusion today in Novi Sad, Serbia, with medal matches in Air Pistol and Air Rifle.
The competition, featuring Europe’s brightest young talents, saw fierce battles for both Bronze and Gold, and the day concluded with Ukraine emerging as the standout nation, claiming top honors in both disciplines.
In the Air Pistol Bronze Medal Match, Team Italy secured a hard-fought victory over the host nation, Team Serbia, claiming third place on the podium. Serbia, despite a valiant effort, had to settle for fourth place.
Meanwhile, in the Air Rifle Bronze Medal Match, Team Norway demonstrated superior consistency, overcoming Team Croatia to secure the Bronze medal. Croatia put up a strong fight but ultimately finished in fourth.
The highlight of the day came during the Gold medal matches. In the Air Pistol Gold Medal Match, Team Ukraine clinched the Gold with a decisive win over Team Spain. Ukraine’s young shooters displayed exceptional poise under pressure, while Spain walked away with the Silver after a commendable performance.
Ukraine’s dominance continued in the Air Rifle Gold Medal Match, where they defeated Team Italy to secure another Gold medal. Italy’s team, after a strong showing throughout the competition, took home the Silver.
In addition to the medals, the top four teams in each event received special prizes – the SIUS Target HS10, provided by ESC Sponsor Mr. Vladimir Lisin. The next-ranked teams received a SCATT system.
The excitement of the competition reached beyond the venue, as the matches were streamed live on the ESC website, drawing an impressive number of viewers. The event’s widespread attention underscored the growing popularity of youth shooting sports and showcased the next generation of elite shooters.
