VALERIAN SAUVEPLANE – NEW MEMBER OF THE ESC ATHLETES’ COMMITTEE
Valerian Sauveplane, prominent rifle shooter from France, is the new member of the ESC Athletes’ Committee. He was elected by the participating athletes of the 2014 European Championship 10m which took place in Moscow, last March.
Valerian Sauveplane is 2013 European Champion and silver medalist of the 2010 ISSF World Championship. He will join the other four athletes of the Committee who were elected in 2013: Petra Zublising (ITA) for the Rifle group, Jasna Sekaric (SRB) for the Pistol group, Jozsef Siki (HUN) for the Running Target group and Vasily Mosin (RUS) for the Shotgun group.
According to the ESC Statutes the Athletes’ Committee consists of seven members – 2 representatives from each of the Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun disciplines and one representative from the Running Target. The 2 members from each of the Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun groups must be composed by one man and one woman. This means that there are still two vacancies in the Athletes’ Committee (1 male representative from the Pistol group and 1 female representative from the Shotgun group). The next elections – of a the female Shotgun athlete – will take place during the 2014 ECH Shotgun in Sarlóspuszta – Hungary.
The ESC Member Federations are invited to make nominations.
