A new chapter for the European Shooting Confederation: General Assembly 2025 in Yerevan
The 2025 General Assembly of the European Shooting Confederation took place in Yerevan, Armenia — a landmark event marking a new chapter in the life of the organization.
This year’s Assembly was a particularly significant one, as delegates elected the ESC President, Vice Presidents, members of the Presidium, and the Chair of the Technical Committee for the next four-year term.
Delegates from 47 Member Federations re-elected Alexander Ratner as ESC President, confirming their trust in his leadership and long-standing dedication to European shooting sport.

During the General Assembly, delegates approved amendments to the ESC Statutes and General Regulations, and decided to introduce a new U-23 age category in the ESC Championships — a move aimed at fostering young talent and building a stronger bridge between junior and senior athletes.
By proposal of the ESC President, the membership fees for the next two years were reduced to 100 euros per member country, a gesture reflecting solidarity and support for national federations.
Following the report of the Evaluation Committee that visited the shooting range in Finland, it was decided to reopen the bid for the 2027 European Championship 25/50/300m/MT/SH.

The Assembly also selected the hosts of the 2028–2029 European Championships, mapping out an exciting calendar for the coming years:
In 2028, the European Championships will take place in:
– ECH 10m U16/U18 — Riga, Latvia
– ECH 10m Men/Women and Men Junior/Women Junior — Győr, Hungary
– ECH Shotgun Men/Women and Men Junior/Women Junior — Nicosia, Cyprus
– ECH 25/50m Men/Women and Men Junior/Women Junior — Osijek, Croatia
– ECH Shotgun U18 — Pleven, Bulgaria
In 2029, the European Championships will take place in:
– ECH 25/50/300m/MT/SH — Osijek, Croatia
– ECH Shotgun U18 — Konya, Türkiye
A particularly warm and emotional moment of the Assembly was the awarding of the Honorary Member titles to individuals who have devoted many years of their lives to serving the Confederation and the sport of shooting:
