Alexander Ratner: "You are our Future"

Yesterday, the ESC President Alexander Ratner opened the final competitions of the 2025 ESC season. This year, it is the Final of the European Youth League.

In his speech, while welcoming the participants and thanking the Hungarian Federation, Mr. Ratner outlined the main points of his election program, as he is running for the position of ESC President for the next four-year term.

Mr. Ratner noted that concluding the season with the competitions of the youngest athletes is highly symbolic:

"…shooting sport has a long tradition. But there must be a future beyond traditions. These competitions clearly show that we have a future! You are our future!"

The development of shooting sport for the younger generation is one of the key priorities of his program.

In his speech, Mr. Ratner emphasized the importance of improving competition formats, building on the existing experience. The ESC will continue to develop competitions both for top athletes, such as the Champions League, and for young shooters of various age categories.

"…We can and should be interesting".

A strong focus on working with media in the modern information environment is also included in Mr. Ratner’s program:

"We want parents to see us on TV and online and want them to bring their children to the shooting range. We want friends to follow their classmates and those who are already involved in shooting sport".

New formats of cooperation with national federations and strong financial support for each and every federation, without exceptions, were announced as well.

Finalizing his speech, Mr. Ratner encouraged the audience:

"Traditions! Youth! Stability! Openness! Shooting sport has a secure future!"

The election of the ESC President will take place during the forthcoming ESC General Assembly on October 24–25 in Yerevan, Armenia.
