Birthday Gold and a full podium for the Team!

The sun was shining in Burgas yesterday, and maybe we know why! One of our athletes celebrated his birthday right on the podium.

Loris Quarta from Italy won gold in 10m Air Pistol U18 Men event. Standing on the top step, Loris got a huge surprise: the announcer, Kristina Pletikapić, led the entire final hall in singing "Happy Birthday" to him. It was an unforgettable present!

Yesterday, medals were awarded in 12 different events. In 10m Air Rifle Solo Women U16, we saw total domination. Athletes from the AIN team took every single spot on the podium – Gold, Silver, and Bronze! Their coach, Nadezhda Shiriaeva, couldn't hide her joy, saying: "This is a coach's dream come true!"

10m Air Pistol Women U16 Team: Ukraine took the Gold, AIN got Silver, and Hungary took Bronze.
10m Air Pistol Women U18 Team: Gold for AIN, Silver for Czechia, and Bronze for Poland.
10m Air Pistol Men U16 Team: The home crowd had a reason to cheer as Bulgaria took Gold, followed by Ukraine (Silver) and Türkiye (Bronze).
10m Air Pistol Men U18 Team: Türkiye takes the Gold home, with Ukraine in second and Serbia in third.

The girls in the Rifle events were incredibly tough yesterday – nobody wanted to give up! It was neck and neck for several series in 10m Air Rifle Solo Women U16, where Eva Melenteva won the Gold against her AIN teammate Maiia Ponomareva, who took the Silver. A similar battle happened in the 10m Air Rifle Solo Women U18, where Abigél Hegedüs (Hungary) claimed the Gold and Anete Tukisa (Latvia) finished with the Silver.

We must talk about the fans! The Turkish team is the best in the stands. Every final with their athletes is full of music and loud support. Even the President of the Turkish Shooting Federation, Murat Kocakaya, joined them yesterday. If we had a "Best Fans" prize, Türkiye would win it. Maybe we should actually make one!

What a day full of stories! But then again, every day here is special. Now, let’s jump into the Duet events!
