Burgas. Where the Champions’ journey begins
Bulgaria welcomes the start of the European Championship 10m U16/U18 – a competition where, for many young athletes, everything is just beginning.
For the first time, Burgas is hosting a European shooting sport event, marking an important debut for the country on the international stage.
The ESC proudly supports this important step for Bulgarian shooting sport. The host country has long been part of the history of air rifle and air pistol disciplines, having produced world-class athletes whose achievements continue to inspire new generations. Two-time Olympic silver medalist Vessela Letcheva, who today leads the Bulgarian Shooting Federation, Olympic Champion Maria Grozdeva, a seven-time Olympian, and Antoaneta Kostadinova, Olympic silver medalist in Tokyo, are powerful symbols of the country’s strong shooting tradition.
Today, that tradition continues in Burgas, as the European Championship welcomes young talents from more than 30 European countries – athletes who are taking their first steps on the international stage and shaping the future of the sport.
The U16/U18 formats, introduced by the ESC one year ago, was created exactly for moments like this: to give opportunities, open new paths, and help young athletes grow here and now. Every shot brings experience. Every final is a step forward.
Let Burgas become the first Championship point for the future leaders of European shooting sports.
The championship finals will be broadcast live on the ESC YouTube and Facebook pages.
