Champions League kicks off with thrilling Solo Finals in Madrid
The European Shooting Confederation Champions League officially launched today in Madrid, with a historic day of competition.
Despite the hot and windy conditions, athletes proved that nothing could deter their pursuit of excellence on the path to sporting glory.
In a landmark moment for the sport, men and women competed on equal terms in both of the day's finals, showcasing the new competitive formats introduced by the ESC.
The first final of the day, the Skeet Solo, delivered a nail-biting performance. Jakub Tomeček from Czechia secured the top spot and the gold medal, followed by Vanesa Hocková from Slovakia, who took the silver. Spain's Jose Maria Mielgo claimed the bronze, and Monika Štibravá from Slovakia finished in fourth place after a fierce battle.
The intensity carried into the second final, the Trap Solo, which proved to be just as captivating. Aaron Heading from Great Britain claimed the gold medal, with Anton Glasnović from Croatia earning silver. Alessandra Perilli from San Marino took home the bronze, while teammate Martina Tonini finished fourth.
