Damir Mikec fulfilled his dream

Damir Mikec (SRB) won not only the Air Pistol Men European Championship, but also the Quota place to Paris.

The other happy Quota Place winner was Ruslan Lunev (AZE), who received also Silver in the Air Pistol Men. Bronze medal winner was Italian Paolo Monna.

The Places to the 2023 European Games received the 12 best athletes from Qualification.

The Gold Match was some way odd, while at the beginning Mikec was leading 4-0. Then came Lunev and won six next shots and he was leading 12-4. Then both athletes made same result 10.2. Scores 13-5 for Lunev. After that Lunev lost someway his concentrating. Not any more 10 or more hits and soon the situation was tie and then Mikec passed Lunev and won the whole Gold Match 17-13.

- This was very important for me, even most important for me at moment. Now I know that I can continue on top level sport and as a top level athlete, explained Mikec full of emotion.
