ESC Leadership visit to Albania: Driving development forward
ESC President Alexander Ratner and Secretary General Yahor Aleinik visited Albania at the invitation of Mr. Stefan Rrufa, President of the Albanian Shooting Sport Federation.
The mission marks a key phase of the ESC Development Grants program, which is now in an active working stage with over 35 national federations already applying.
The primary focus of the visit was an assessment of various sports facilities and technical bases. The ESC leadership evaluated how support and resources provided by the former ISSF leadership are being utilized on the ground to benefit Albanian athletes. This review is crucial for the Federation's application for the new ESC Development Grant and the modernization of local infrastructure.
As part of the working program, the ESC delegation met with Mr. Fidel Ylli, President of the National Olympic Committee of Albania. The meeting focused on the country's shooting sports development, specifically the creation of a national shooting center led by the federation. During the discussions, the ESC identified practical ways to assist in bringing Albanian talent to the international level.

The President and Secretary General also met with Mrs. Enkelejda Caushi, Director of the Albanian Olympic Academy, to discuss challenges in coaching development and education.
Overall, Albania serves as an active example of the ESC’s ongoing collaboration with national federations. The goal remains clear: to ensure that young talents across Europe have the best possible training conditions to succeed.
