European Championships Shotgun U18 officially opened
Today, at the Malakasa Shooting Range near Athens, the European Championships Shotgun U18 were officially opened.
The President of the European Shooting Confederation, Alexander Ratner, together with the President of the Hellenic Shooting Federation, Athanassios Papageorgiou, and the President of the Malakasa Shooting Club, Ioannis Koilakos, declared the start of the first-ever European Championships in Shotgun for athletes under 18.
Around 100 young athletes from 19 nations are taking part in this historic event, which features 17 medal events and offers young shooters an opportunity to compete at the highest level in their age group.
“It’s great to have a dedicated U18 competition to encourage young shooters across Europe,” said Ali Mustafaev, Azerbaijan’s Skeet coach and athlete. “It is a powerful stepping stone that prepares athletes for higher-level success”.
The European Championships Shotgun U18 are part of ESC’s commitment to supporting youth development in shooting sports, ensuring that talented young athletes gain valuable international experience in a competitive yet supportive environment.
