Greece and Great Britain were on top in Poznań
The second edition of the European Champions League in Shotgun has determined its heroes.
Greece made an impressive debut at the European Champions League by taking gold in the Skeet Team event. In the Gold Medal Match Greece won against Germany.
The winning team was composed of Efthimios Mitas, Charalampos Chalkiadakis, Emmanouela Katzouraki and Anna Maria Mirkantonaki with their coach Georgios Salavantakis.
Third place in Skeet was won by Czechia, fourth – by Poland.
In Trap Great Britain, last year’s winners in Osijek, once again proved themselves the strongest team in Europe by securing gold in the final match against Spain.
The winning team consisted of Matthew Coward-Holley, Aaron Heading, Ellie Seward, Abbey Ling with their coach Marco Micheli.
Third place in Trap went to Türkiye, forth – to Poland.
The Greek and the British athletes also won the Solo events. Charalampos Chalkiadakis claimed gold in Skeet, while Matthew Coward-Holley was the best in Trap.
Reflecting on the European Champions League events Charalampos Chalkiadakis remarked, "I really enjoy this kind of competition. It’s something different and pushes you in new ways. Sometimes it’s a 1:1 duel, other times it's the team format."
Similarly, Matthew Coward-Holley shared his thoughts, saying, "It’s a unique event, unlike anything else, and it’s fantastic."

During the Gala Dinner the participating Teams and athletes received prize money certificates and special prizes. Teams of Greece and Great Britain were crowned with the Champions League Cup by the ESC President Alexander Ratner (on the photo).
The total amount of prize money allocated among the Member Federations and athletes participating in the European Champions League in Shotgun amounted 153.500 Euro.
