It was a long day

A lot of athletes in Qualifications including shoot-offs, tough fight in all Finals – it really took a long time.

Anyway, the Croatian Tuesday continued with Trap Men Finals.

Team Italy (Mauro de Filippis, Massimo Fabbrizi, Giovanni Pellielo) met Team Finland (Juho Johannes Mäkelä, Eemil Pirttisalo, Jukka Laakso) in the Bronze medal match.

Each team started winning round by round: 2-0, 2-2, 4-2, 4-4. In this fourth round Italians showed perfect series with a difference of 4 targets.

In the fifth round Team Italy put an end to this matter and won the match with 6-4.

In the Gold medal match Jiří Lipták, Jan Palacký, and David Kostelecký from the Czech Republic competed against Aaron Heading, Steven Scott and Nathan Hales from Great Britain. As for the Czech Republic, it was a kind of Dream Team: there were two Olympic champions at once!

And again this match was no exception: it was long, but – as all Finals today – really exciting!

In the third round both Teams had equal scores: 3-3. The same situation repeated in the fifth round which meant a shoot-off.

The nature of the shoot-off was totally no different from the match. The Britons were calmer and more precise and won the match by the last shot in the third series with 7-8!

Thanks again for great performance!

Thanks to everyone for this great Championships! But we don’t say goodbye: we’ll see each other here in Osijek less than in two weeks for the inaugural European Champions League Shotgun!
