Italy, Hungary and Czech Republic are the most successful teams in Macolin – Suisse

12 teams from the West Region were registered for the 1st edition of SIUS European Youth League Championship. After the Qualification Round, earlier this year, 10 teams were eligible to take part in the Qualification in Switzerland.

42 young athletes from 6 nations travelled to Macolin in Switzerland together with their coaches to compete in four matches each during the week-end 10-12 May 2019. The Rifle teams came from Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia and the pistol team from Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy and Spain.

Excellent competition for the Italian Rifle team was winning the 4 matches. They will be accompanied by Hungary to the Final in Budapest (HUN). The Hungarian athletes won 3 matches.

Pistol competition, as in Rifle, Italy won 4 matches and the Czech team 3 matches which qualified them both to the Final in Budapest (HUN).

The 1st edition of the SIUS European Youth League Championship was a great success.

The Swiss Shooting Sport Federation for the first time in Switzerland proved to be very experienced organizer. We all enjoyed a wonderful view on the Alpen mountains. The hospitality was just as warm and welcoming.

On behalf of the ESC Presidium I would like to express my warm thanks and appreciation to the Competition Manager August Wyss for excellent preparation.

It was a great pleasure to follow the exciting competitions during the week-end and I would like to congratulate all athletes. Not only those who can now look forward to the Final in Budapest (HUN). In fact, all participants deserve our appreciation – for excellent performance in friendship and fair play.

The final will take place in Budapest on 3 to 5 October 2019.
