Lunev and Olesk finished the Centre Fire Pistol with same results and same number of the inner tens. Lunev won with the result of last series.

The Centre Fire Pistol was one of the most exciting events I ever have seen.

It was a duel with two giants. After the precision stage Azerbaijan Ruslan Lunev was leading, but only with the number of inner tens, both heroes made the result 293 – Lunev had 14 inner tens and Olesk 10 inner tens. Lunev’s series 96+99+98 and Olesk’s 99+97+97.

In the rapid stage the leading was changing after series. Lunev’s series were 98+96+97. Olesk fought well and his series were 97+98+96. So both athletes made finally the same results 584 and when looking the number of the inner tens – it was the same 18 inner tens. Then it has to check the series and finally Lunev had the better last series (97) instead Olesk’s 96. Lunev won Gold, Olesk Silver, and Bronze travelled to France with Patrice Duviel with 581 result.

Peeter Olesk told me that this competition will be very tight and the winner is the athlete who is leading after the Precision stage. In this matter Peeter Olesk’s answer was correct. Lunev and in the end Lunev.

France won the team competition with result 1726, Estonia won Silver (1711) and Bronze travelled to Latvia with result 1709.
