Peeter Olesk won fourth time the Ranno Krusta Memorial in Tallinn
The 5th Ranno Krusta Memorial started the 25m pistol event in Männiku Shooting Center in Tallinn on Thursday. On Friday (17.7.) Ranno Krusta Memorial will continue and on 18th July will start the 25m Lapua European Cup.
The best of the Thursday´s qualification of Ranno Krusta Memorial was Estonian Peeter Olesk, who is defending his last year Victory. His result was 586, second was Fred Raukas EST 571, Finn Marko Talvitie made a good run and arose third with the same result as Raukas, but Raukas had more inner tens (17) – Talvitie (16). The three other to the final were Özgur Varlik (TUR) 569, Murat Kilic (TUR) 567 and Ruslan Lunev (AZE) 563.
Peeter Olesk won the final too, even he was not satisfied to his shooting.
– My shooting was like roller skating – like swaying here and there. Well, that´s all, there were good hits but also much not so good ones. I´m anyway happy when winning, explained Olesk. Olesk made 28 hits, second was Marko Talvitie(FIN) with 25 hits and third Ruslan Lunev (AZE) with 21 hits.
The Ranno Krusta Memorial continued on Friday with the second Qualification and with the Final , the ranking is determined as the sum of the place of the two competition days.
Peeter Olesk EST continued his strong shooting and won the Qualification (584-22x), second was this time Ruslan Lunev AZE (575-25x), third Özgur Varlik( TUR)575 – 20X). The three others who reached the place to the final were Nemo Raukas(EST) 570, Fred Raukas (EST) 568 and Murat Kilic (TUR) 567.
And Olesk continued the same way at the final too. Olesk took the lead in the beginning but in the second series Turkish Murat took the lead after perfect 5 hits, but both had the same number of hits (7). After that Olesk didn´t give up the lead and he made finally Estonian final record with the result of 32 hits. Lunev (AZE) was second (25 hits), third Kilic (TUR) 18 hits.
When these two days counted together, the winner of the 5th Ranno Krusta Memorial was Estonian Peeter Olesk, second Azerbaijanian Ruslan Lunev and third Turkish Özgur Varlik.
- It is honour to win this Memorial, while Ranno Krusta coached me until he passed away. This is so special competition for me and Ranno was in my mind quite often. I wish he was watching this in the heaven and liked it, said the 4 times winner Peeter Olesk.
