Switzerland on top: Championship 300m ends in Osijek

The 2026 European Championship in 300m Rifle has come to an end. For several days, athletes from 16 nations competed in Osijek, Croatia, pushing their precision to the limit.

When the competition finished, Switzerland stood at the top of the medals table.

The Swiss performance was outstanding. They claimed gold in both team events: 300m Rifle Prone Men and 300m Rifle 3 Positions Trio Men.

The Bachmann-Senti family defined the week. Pascal Bachmann-Senti was a key figure, winning three medals: a silver in Standard Rifle, and two bronzes in Prone Men and the Mixed Duet. His compatriot Anja Bachmann-Senti finished the campaign perfectly by winning the gold medal in 300m Rifle Prone Women.

Marta Szabo Bouza also had a brilliant tournament. She became one of the most decorated athletes of the week, winning gold in 300m Rifle 3 Positions Women, silver in the Swiss team, and bronze in both Prone Women and the Mixed Duet.

Poland showed great consistency as well. Tomasz Bartnik started the week with gold in Standard Rifle and ended it by winning the Mixed Duet title with Karolina Romanczyk. Romanczyk was successful across the board, earning silver in Prone Women and bronze in 3 Positions Women.

In the men's events, Alexander Schmirl (Austria) took gold in Prone Men, beating Andrzej Burda (Poland) who took silver. In the 3 Positions Men, Jiri Privratsky (Czechia) claimed the title, followed by Aleksi Leppa (Finland) with the silver medal. Peter Sidi (Romania) also reached the podium with a bronze in Standard Rifle. In the women's 3 Positions, Seonaid McIntosh earned a strong silver medal for Great Britain.
