From decisions to action: ESC is preparing for the new season

Following the decisions taken at the General Assembly, the ESC team has begun active preparations for the new competitive season. The programme supported by the majority of national federations is already being implemented in practice.

The ESC has launched its Development Grant Programme to support shooting sport development across its member federations. The grants are intended for a wide range of projects — from athlete and coach training to infrastructure development and educational initiatives. The first applications have already been reviewed at a meeting of the ESC Presidium.

At the same time, the ESC Presidium approved amendments to the General Regulations, reducing entry fees for individual events from €170 to €135. The reduction corresponds to the part of the entry fee that was previously paid to the ESC by the Organising Committees and which the Confederation has decided to remove.

This decision, supported by the General Assembly, aims to reduce the financial burden on national federations and make participation in ESC competitions more accessible.

The new entry fees will apply to ESC competitions starting from 1 January 2026.

The first meeting of the newly formed ESC Technical Committee also took place, under the leadership of its new Chairman, Robert Ferenčak from Slovenia. The Committee defined its key priorities, allocated areas of responsibility, and focused on core fields including competitions, judging, rules, and officials. Among the important outcomes were the approval of the shooting events programme for the 2027 European Games and a proposal to hold a combined European Championship for Moving Target 10m and 50m in 2027.

The newly elected ESC Presidium also held its first meeting, during which key leadership decisions were made to support the Confederation’s future work.

Yahor Aleinik was appointed Secretary General of the ESC. A Master of Sport, he brings extensive experience in organising international competitions, including the 2019 European Games in Minsk and the 2023 European Games in Wrocław, as well as professional experience with the ISSF and the ESC.

Elena Allen was named Sport Director of the ESC. An Olympian, former athlete and current member of the ISSF Executive Committee, she is a well-respected figure in shooting sports with understanding of athletes’ needs and international sports governance.

During the same meeting, the Presidium approved the ESC competition calendar for 2026, which includes 12 events.

Also following discussions between the European Shooting Confederation and the event organisers, shooting sport is confirmed in the programmes of the 2027 European Games in Istanbul  and the 2027 European Youth Olympic Festival, with all three disciplines represented.

Preparations for the new competitive season are already in progress, combining competition planning with the practical implementation of decisions adopted at the General Assembly.
